In Business Class: When it comes to banking, we usually hear specific terms: products, interest rates, transactions, and technologies. Beyond all these, however, there is something that cannot be measured in numbers: clients’ trust. And in the premium segment, this value becomes the most important one. In addition to the traditional services, we are used to — opening an account, issuing a card, or setting up a deposit — there is also a relationship built on human interaction and on knowing the person, their wishes, and their present and future plans. The bank becomes a trusted friend that accompanies you through the important moments of life.

According to Uliana Vetrova, Head of Moldindconbank’s Premium Business Division, the premium concept is defined by several important pillars: a dedicated banking offer, personalized service, exclusive benefits provided by the Mastercard World Elite card, as well as the human relationship, individual attention, and continuity of interaction.

“Each customer knows their personal manager, who is familiar with their history, family context, professional activity, and personal needs, as well as those of the entire family. In this model, premium service strengthens relationships and offers an individualized experience. In this way, we build long-term trust,” Uliana tells us.

When the Bank knows your journey

Moldindconbank launched the Premium Exclusive service in 2022, dedicated to customers who want more. These are people with different needs and expectations when it comes to financial services: they travel, they value their time, they seek new development opportunities, and they need the support of a personal manager who knows them by name and can provide quick answers and assistance.

“We have customers who have been banking with us for 30 years. We have followed their evolution. We know what businesses they have built, what stages they have gone through, how their priorities have changed over time, and what their current goals are. It is precisely this shared history that allows us to understand what they need and offer them the right solutions. This continuity turns the relationship into something profoundly different from the traditional banking model,” Uliana Vetrova explains.

The premium service is built around each customer’s lifestyle. Whether it is about frequent travel, personal passions, or special needs, the services are tailored to their expectations and priorities. This flexibility is one of the major differences compared to the standard relationship between a bank and its customer.

World Elite Card – The Foundation of Premium Service

A distinctive demand also requires an offer that matches customers’ lifestyle. Thus, at the heart of the premium concept and ecosystem lies the international experience in which the CARD becomes the product that opens the door to many benefits and unique experiences. For this project, Moldindconbank chose the premium World Elite card, and the offer was developed in partnership with Mastercard.

The World Elite card offers all the ingredients of a Priceless proposition: status, access to exclusive experiences, comfort while traveling, lounge access in many airports around the world, insurance, and Concierge services for ongoing assistance in unforeseen situations abroad. The Mastercard World Elite card offers more than a financial instrument — it is an internationally recognized symbol of status. According to Uliana Vetrova, in many international contexts, presenting such a card immediately conveys the message that its holder belongs to a category of customers who are treated preferentially.

More than Banking

The premium model is built on the continuous evolution of the relationship with the customer. In the traditional service model, the customer is served at any counter, completes a transaction, and leaves, without any real continuity in the interaction. In the premium model, the relationship becomes constant, personalized, and built over time.

The premium manager becomes the main point of contact between the customer and the bank. They understand not only the customer’s personal needs, but also their professional and economic context, which allows for quick intervention and better-tailored solutions.

In practice, this translates into fast access to services, priority attention, and, perhaps most importantly, more direct communication so that the customer can be heard and understood.

Relationships are built for the long term, sometimes over several decades. This continuity provides a deep understanding of clients’ history and development, making it possible to identify suitable financial solutions and, at times, even anticipate needs before they are explicitly expressed.

The accumulated experience, the history of the relationship, and the understanding of risks make it possible to select the most suitable products and services for each customer, depending on their lifestyle, outlook, and the stages they are going through. Sometimes, the personal manager notices opportunities the customer does not yet see. At other times, they remind the customer of a project discussed years earlier that may now become a reality.

A Relationship Built on Trust

A premium manager must demonstrate empathy, discretion, loyalty, and professionalism. These qualities help them become a trusted point of contact, and the relationship built with the customer becomes the foundation of the entire premium service.

The relationship between the customer and the manager goes beyond the simple execution of banking operations and may include conversations about personal experiences, travel, or cultural recommendations.

However, Uliana Vetrova emphasizes that this is not a friendship, but rather a professional closeness based on trust. The manager must constantly maintain the balance between the human dimension of the relationship and their role as a representative of the bank.

Each premium manager has their own portfolio of customers and is directly responsible for it. Customers are not randomly redirected to other employees, but benefit from continuity and a stable relationship with the same person.

Even when several customers request the manager’s attention at the same time, the manager must respond as quickly as possible. Availability and promptness are essential. Over time, the relationship may reach a high level of understanding, so that some situations are handled with almost intuitive efficiency.

Availability Makes the Difference

In the modern world, time has become one of the most valuable resources, and the value of a premium service is often measured by how quickly it provides answers.

“For many customers, it is not the product itself that matters most, but the certainty that there is someone who will step in immediately when a need arises. There are no minutes spent waiting on the phone, no transfers between departments — access is direct, and solutions come without delay,” Uliana explains.

This is possible because, behind every personal manager, there is an entire team working in coordination and ready to respond quickly. The team operates almost automatically, like a mechanism in which, once the button is pressed, all components begin to function in sync. In practice, when the customer contacts the manager and submits a request, the information is immediately passed on to the colleagues involved, and the solution may be prepared and delivered during the phone conversation itself. Sometimes the customer receives the documents or the reply by email even before the call ends. This speed and coordination create the impression of an almost “magical” experience, in which the request and the solution overlap in real time.

For some customers, time and attention to detail carry special value. That is why constant availability becomes more important than the product itself or its cost. Simple gestures — no waiting times, a prompt response, continuity in the relationship — are what exceed expectations.

An essential element is the memory of the relationship. The manager remembers information, intentions, or wishes expressed a long time ago and returns to them when the context becomes favorable. This continuity turns the interaction into a personalized experience, in which old plans or postponed goals become achievable thanks to a deep understanding of the customer.

More than a Banking Space

The premium experience means not only fast services, but also the creation of an environment in which the customer feels comfortable. The areas dedicated to premium customers were designed not to impress through luxury, but to offer discretion, calm, and confidentiality. These are spaces where conversations take place naturally, without haste and without the pressure of a crowded environment.

This attention to detail helps strengthen the connection between the customer and the bank, turning every meeting into a personalized experience.

A Community Built Through Recommendations

Perhaps the most convincing proof of the success of the Premium Exclusive service is the way it has grown. In less than four years since its launch, the number of customers has increased from around 100 to more than 7,500.

A remarkable evolution that was not driven by massive advertising campaigns. “We do not promote this service on television, nor do we address it to everyone. It is a product intended for a specific segment of customers,” Uliana notes.

Most new customers come through recommendations. People talk to one another about their experiences, share the benefits they have discovered, and recommend the service to those in their professional or personal circles. Ultimately, trust is best passed from person to person.

More than Care — Details that Strengthen the Relationship

The bank pays constant attention to the feedback it receives from customers. Both praise and criticism are treated as valuable sources of learning and improvement. Issues identified as inadequate are analyzed and corrected, while the personal relationship between the manager and the customer contributes significantly to the high level of satisfaction.

To collect opinions, managers use QR codes through which customers can send feedback directly. In addition, surveys are conducted periodically to assess the extent to which the services provided meet the expectations of the premium segment.

In the premium segment, success does not mean agreeing to every request a customer makes. It means having the courage to tell them honestly when a certain decision is not in their best interest. “Sometimes, the customer comes with a request that is not the best solution for them. Even if, in the short term, the bank could earn a commission or complete a transaction, we choose to recommend what we believe is right for the customer. In the long run, this is the best investment in a relationship,” Uliana notes, emphasizing that trust does not appear overnight. It is built over time, through consistency, fairness, and the ability to put the customer’s interest ahead of the institution’s immediate interest.

Uliana sees the premium segment as one with growing potential in the future. Economic development, the expansion of local businesses, and the increasing number of people with high incomes and a stronger level of financial education will fuel demand for increasingly complex and personalized services.

And Moldindconbank already has the team, vision, and commitment needed to continue developing these services. At the same time, customers’ expectations are constantly rising, and this evolution requires the institution to continuously refine both its offering and the way it builds relationships.

The future of premium services will be marked by an ever-higher level of complexity and personalization, while customers’ feedback, the maturation of the entrepreneurial environment, and growing expectations will remain the main factors driving this evolution.

Banking with Soul

We are living through a time in which technology is rapidly transforming the world, including the financial industry. In these conditions, Premium Exclusive seeks to preserve something that cannot be digitalized: the human relationship.

At the core of the premium concept are several essential values: honesty, discretion, fairness, transparency in communication, empathy, and the promise of always being there for the customer. For the Moldindconbank team, these are not merely declarative principles, but elements that define their day-to-day work.

“Our highest value is the relationship between people. That is where everything begins and where everything ends,” Uliana Vetrova concludes.

Perhaps this is the true definition of premium service: not an exclusive card, not a dedicated space, and not even a sophisticated portfolio of financial products, but the feeling that, regardless of the situation, there is always someone who knows your story, understands your needs, and is always by your side.

Quote: Uliana VETROVA, Head of Moldindconbank’s Premium Business Division:

“It is not about financial transactions. It is about relationships built on trust. It is about a person with their own history, their family, their projects, and their dreams. Our highest value is the relationship between people. That is where everything begins and where everything ends.”
