Moldindconbank is the only bank in the Republic of Moldova that offers its customers the Global Blue Tax Free service, which allows for the refund of Value-Added Tax (VAT) on goods purchased in approximately 30 countries around the world.

According to European Union legislation and the laws of other countries participating in the program, non-residents of the European Union—including citizens of the Republic of Moldova traveling abroad with a Moldovan passport—are entitled to request a refund of the VAT paid on purchases made in eligible countries.

Through the Global Blue Tax Free service, you can claim a VAT refund for purchases made in:

European Union countries;

Turkey;

Switzerland;

Kazakhstan.

Stores participating in the program are marked with the “Tax Free” logo, which is usually displayed at the entrance.

How do you get the Tax-Free form?

Request the Tax-Free form on the day you make your purchases in the respective countries. It can be issued at the checkout or at the designated offices in shopping centers.

TAXFREE forms will be validated by the customs authorities in the last country of exit from the EU or upon leaving the country where the purchases were made.

How can you request a refund??

To claim a refund of VAT paid abroad, contact:

Moldindconbank Centru branch at 38 Armeneasca Str., Chisinau

Necessary documents:

Tax Free forms validated by a customs officer;

For Austria and Germany only, tax receipts for the purchased goods must be presented;

A physical bank card, valid for at least another 3 months, issued by Moldindconbank;

An identity document confirming residence in the Republic of Moldova (for residents);

the passport used for travel (for residents and non-residents).

When will you receive your refund?

After Global Blue validates the documents, the VAT amount will be transferred to the card specified in the application within an estimated 6–8 weeks.
