Moldindconbank expands the use of the digital ID from EVO for all identification and counter service situations

Moldindconbank is expanding the use of the digital ID by launching the identification functionality with EVO Wallet Verifier, which allows customer service in all identification scenarios at branches, under the same conditions as presenting a physical identity document.
The new solution offers a faster, more convenient service experience adapted to a digital lifestyle. If previously identification through EVO was available only in certain scenarios, and for some operations—such as updating data, identifying new customers, or carrying out certain occasional transactions—the presentation of a physical document was required, with this expansion all these limitations are removed. The digital ID can now be used in all identification and service processes at the branch.
“The integration of the EVO Digital Identity Wallet marks a new step in the digitalization of Moldindconbank’s services. Our customers can now identify themselves at the counter using the digital documents in the EVO application, through a fast, secure, and intuitive process. We are thus offering them a modern alternative to physical-format documents, without changing each customer’s freedom to choose how they wish to identify themselves,” Victor Cibotaru, Chairman of the Management Board of Moldindconbank, said.

How does it work?
The process is intuitive and takes only a few seconds:
1. Use the EVO app to scan the QR code displayed by the branch operator;
2. You receive a notification to confirm the sharing of the data related to your identity document;
3. After you accept, your identification data is transmitted securely and instantly to the bank’s system, and you can be served immediately.
The entire process takes place under maximum security conditions, in accordance with the latest data protection standards.

“We are among the first countries to implement digital document verification scenarios, and we are taking a new step toward fundamentally transforming the way we verify and prove our identity. Through the EVO Wallet, digital documents become more secure and easier to verify, while interactions with institutions become faster and simpler. We are developing this infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the standards of the European Digital Identity Wallet,” Nicoleta Colomeeț, Director of the e-Governance Agency, said.
“The EVO Digital Identity Wallet actually represents our identity within the country and, later, abroad. Within three to four years, we aim to integrate services that will facilitate various procedures—from enrolling children in studies abroad to opening a bank account more quickly in Romania or accessing medical services for a surgical intervention. All these processes must be based on one essential element: the digital wallet,” Michelle Iliev, State Secretary for Digitalization at the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, said.
Customers can choose the identification method that suits them best: either through the digital ID in the EVO application or by presenting a physical identity document, both of which are recognized and accepted in the service process.
Through this implementation, Moldindconbank continues the digitalization of its banking services and aligns itself with European practices, offering modern solutions that simplify customers’ interaction with the bank. At the same time, the new functionality confirms Moldindconbank’s ability to quickly turn technological innovation into concrete benefits, contributing to a simpler, faster, and more accessible banking experience.
