Moldindconbank donates drinking water to residents of Balti amid environmental alert

Moldindconbank comes with a gesture of support for the inhabitants of the north of the country, in the context of the difficulties generated by the pollution of the Nistru River and the water restrictions imposed in several localities.
The Bank’s Management Board decided to donate 2,777 bottles of drinking water, of 6 liters each, to the residents of Balti municipality, where the water supply from this source was stopped. Water has already been sent to local public authorities to be distributed to the population.
“We are following with concern the situation created on the Nistru River and the impact on the communities in the north of the country. Given that several localities are facing water restrictions, we consider it important to intervene promptly and provide concrete support. We believe that the responsibility of a financial institution means not only services, but also real involvement in the life of the community. We want this donation to help people get over this period more easily and to provide them with a minimum of safety in everyday life.” Victor Cibotaru, Chairman of the Management Board of Moldindconbank said.
The Mayor of Balti, Alexandr Petkov, expressed his gratitude for the support provided:
āWe appreciate this support from Moldindconbank, a trusted partner of the Balti Mayoralty. This donation of approximately 17 tons of bottled drinking water is extremely necessary during this time of crisis, when many residents are facing real difficulties in accessing water. The water will be distributed starting today in various areas of the city so that it reaches those in need as quickly as possible. Thank you for this gesture of solidarity and for your involvement, which demonstrates that, together, we can overcome this difficult period and take care of one another.ā
Authorities have declared a 15-day environmental alert, effective March 16, in response to the oil spill in the Nistru River; this measure aims to prevent risks to public health and limit the environmental impact.
