Moldindconbank, the largest Bulgarian investment in Moldova, hosted the reception for Bulgaria’s National Day

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Chișinău organized a reception to celebrate Bulgaria’s National Day, marking 148 years since the country’s liberation from Ottoman rule. The event brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the business community, and members of the Bulgarian community in the Republic of Moldova. The reception was organized with the financial support of Moldindconbank, the most significant Bulgarian investment in the economy of the Republic of Moldova.
The Bulgarian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Maya Dobreva, spoke about the historical ties between the two countries and the role of the Bulgarian community in Moldova.
“The historical ties between Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova are close and sincere. Today, the Bulgarian community in Moldova preserves its language and cultural identity, actively contributing to the development of Moldovan society. Our history has evolved into a mature strategic partnership. Now, the Republic of Moldova has a clear and irreversible European future, and Bulgaria supports this strategic objective,” stated Her Excellency.
The Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, emphasized that the relationship between the two states is built on people and shared values.
“The Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria are two countries bound by people, history, and shared values. The Bulgarian community in the Republic of Moldova, particularly in Taraclia, is part of our shared history and demonstrates that friendship between nations begins at the grassroots level,” the official said.

During the event, Tzvetanka Kroumova, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Moldindconbank, highlighted the bank’s role in strengthening economic relations in the Republic of Moldova and its contribution to bringing the country closer to the EU.
“We are delighted to be here in Moldova as the largest Bulgarian investment in the country’s economy and to be part of the Moldovan community. Moldova’s economy is growing and undergoing a process of transformation in the context of European integration, and we want to make a meaningful contribution to this journey,” said the representative of Moldindconbank.
The reception brought together diplomats, officials, and representatives of the business community, confirming the increasingly close ties between the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria.
