In the context of its strategic commitment to sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles, Moldindconbank is launching a pilot project for separate paper collection. In the first stage, the initiative is being implemented in the bank’s Central Office, as well as in six of its largest branches: Centru, Invest, Telecomtrans, Negruzzi, Zorile and Alba Iulia.

The aim of the project is to reduce the environmental impact generated by the institution’s administrative activity and to implement an organizational culture oriented towards environmental responsibility.

“Sustainability is not just a component of our strategy, but a guiding principle in the way we make decisions, build relationships and relate to the community and the environment. Through this concrete action, we aim not only to comply with the law, but also to cultivate an internal culture of environmental responsibility. We believe that every gesture counts – and when hundreds of employees make the same gesture, the impact becomes significant,” said Tzvetanka Kroumova, First Deputy Chairman of the Moldindconbank Managing Board.

The project foresees the phasing out of paper shredders and the implementation of clear selective collection measures. The paper waste generated in the institution’s day-to-day operations will be classified into two categories – recyclable and non-recyclable – and will be stored in special containers located in all workspaces involved in the project. For documents containing classified information, according to the Bank’s internal rules, strict security measures are applied prior to recycling, using special neutralization procedures, so that the confidentiality and integrity of the data are fully protected.

This complements other green initiatives undertaken by the bank and is part of a wider plan to integrate sustainability criteria into all internal processes.
