Moldindconbank, alongside the new generation of champions at the "Chisinau Open 2026" international karate tournament

For one day, ChiČinÄu became the capital of courage and discipline, hosting the “Chisinau Open 2026” international Kyokushinkai Karate tournament, and Moldindconbank, as General Partner, was alongside the 240 athletes from the country and abroad who stepped onto the tatami with ambition, determination, and respect for this sport.
On February 21, at the University of Physical Education and Sports in Chisinau, the competition brought together talented young people, dedicated coaches, and excited parents in a true celebration of discipline and character. The event was organized by the National Kyokushinkaikan IKO Karate Sports Federation of Moldova, in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall and the General Directorate of Education, Youth, and Sports.
Igor Stratan, Director of the Network and Alternative Channels Department at Moldindconbank, spoke about the responsibility involved in supporting such a competition: “Today we see here not just a competition, but the result of many hours of work, discipline, and dedication. Every athlete who steps onto the tatami carries with them the trust of their parents and the support of their coaches. For Moldindconbank, supporting education, culture, and sports is a responsibility we have taken on. We will continue to contribute to creating the conditions necessary for these talents to grow and achieve great results. I wish you all courage, focus, and performances you can be proud of.”

He reiterated that the bank’s involvement in such projects is part of a long-term commitment: for 35 years, Moldindconbank has been supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of young people and the consolidation of a society based on values, perseverance, and respect.
Ion Ceban, the general mayor of municipality of Chisinau, emphasized the importance of martial arts in character development: “Martial arts have always been and remain about strength, intelligence, discipline, and the formation of an outstanding character. We are proud of each and every one of you. I wish victory to those who have trained the hardest and hope you succeed in raising the flag of the Republic of Moldova abroad as well.ā
In turn, President of the National Kyokushinkaikan IKO Karate Federation of Moldova, addressed the participants with the following message: āCongratulations on this wonderful event, which is a celebration for all of us ā athletes, parents, coaches, and spectators. May this tournament provide you with valuable experience for growth, and may the strongest prevail.ā
