More women will benefit from support thanks to the Pudra Card charity mini football tournament from Moldindconbank
The number of beneficiaries of the charity women’s football mini-tournament, organized by Pudra Card from Moldindconbank, will be increased. Ms. Tzvetanka Kroumova, First Deputy Chairperson of the Moldindconbank Managing Board, discussed the topic with Ms. Maria Marinuta, Executive Director of the International Women’s Club and Ms. Angelina Zaporojan-Pirgari, Executive Director of the Women’s Law Centre.
During the meeting, which took place in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, it was mentioned that through the program, launched with the support of Pudra Card from Moldindconbank and its partners, already six women subjected to domestic violence will have the opportunity to start their own business or secure a start towards a better future.
“For us, social involvement in local community projects is as important as the commitment to contribute to the development of the financial-banking system and the Moldovan economy in general. The women’s football mini-tournament, which has already become a tradition for Moldindconbank, is an effective way to demonstrate that the bank is not only about business, but also a friend in solidarity with the problems of the community it belongs to. It is necessary for the whole society to know that domestic violence is a crime and this dangerous phenomenon should not be underestimated”, Ms. Tzvetanka Kroumova, First Deputy Chairperson of the Moldindconbank Managing Board, said.
The parties talked about different cases of domestic violence in the country and abroad, as well as the importance of organizing social events in support of women, following the model of the women’s football mini-tournament held by Moldindconbank.
“As a representative of the International Women’s Club, I am very pleased with the help and support Moldindconbank has provided in this program. We need to talk as much as possible about this phenomenon and prevent it. Women often do not admit that they are subjected to violence because they are financially dependent on the aggressor, but also because they are ashamed”, Ms. Maria Marinuta, Executive Director of the International Women’s Club, said.
Ms. Angelina Zaporojan-Pirgari, Executive Director of the Women’s Law Centre, said Moldindconbank is the first bank to offer support for such a program. About 70% of women in the country are victims of various types of violence.
“We appreciate that the business community has come together to prevent this phenomenon. We thank Moldindconbank for their support and involvement in funding six cases, which target several women and their children,” Ms. Angelina Zaporojan-Pirgari, Executive Director, Women’s Law Center, said.
At the same time, the Moldindconbank management was invited to visit the Women’s Law Centre to learn first-hand about the beneficiaries’ plans.
During the 3rd edition of the charity women’s football mini-tournament, which took place in March this year, four teams of influencers, journalists, Premium customers and Moldindconbank employees took the field, including Doina Danielean, Doina Stratan, Nadia Mazur, Doina Chiorescu, Sasha Letty, Iulia Deliu, Liubovi Plamadeala, Irina Harea-Mardari. At the end of the event it was announced that Pudra Card will give the four beneficiaries of the mini-tournament 200 000 lei.
