Anatolie Rusu, the founder of Premier Football Club: "When it comes to investing, your first coworker is the bank."

What began as a dream of sports enthusiasts has turned into an ambitious project ā Premier Football in Durlesti. With three training fields and a stadium that meets the standards for official competitions, Premier Football has a modern infrastructure and a clear vision for developing children through sports. Anatolie Rusu, the club’s founder, tells how he managed to transform a deserted area into a place where passion and performance come to life. This achievement was also made possible thanks to the financial support provided by Moldindconbank through the government’s investment incentive program “373.”
Tell us about the Premier Football project. How did the idea come about and how did it develop?
We have been working in the fitness industry for seven years and have been living in Durlesti for even longer. Being involved in sports, we noticed that football, as an organized activity, is less developed in our country. This project was, on the one hand, an interesting idea and, on the other hand, a dream. We are also involved in construction, and with this opportunity, we wanted to add value to the area. There was nothing here. When designing this area, we also designed the football school with the help of specialists and people in the business.
Did you see potential for development in Durlesti?
Yes! My opinion is that if you do something good and you are among the best, you have everything to gain from it.
Tell us how the project evolved, from the initial idea to what we see today.
This project was initiated in 2022. It was very well thought out, both technically and practically. We wanted to do something high-quality, logical in terms of location, with parking, changing rooms, and gyms for athletes to train. The emphasis was on qualityāto be a long-term project, capable of competing in the market.
What can sports enthusiasts find here?
Our activity is mainly focused on groups of childrenāwe expect around 300ā400 kids, according to our development plan. We are also considering other sports sections, which we intend to develop in line with this. Another important component is for amateur football playersāthe playing fields can be rented in the evening, after the children’s training sessions.
We also have a sports cafƩ where children can grab something to eat or drink after training, and fans can spend time discussing sports. Parents have comfortable waiting areas at their disposal, both in the cafƩ and in the lobby.
In total, we have three small stadiums for training and one large stadium for matches, which meets the standards for official competitions. The other fields, measuring 32 x 22 square meters, are intended for training children and amateurs.
Have you already received feedback from parents and children?
We have already received positive feedback from parents and children, with customers being very satisfied, as reflected both in our discussions with them and in their behavior. I think we have managed to meet their expectations. They like everything, from the technical to the practical aspects, including the parking, access to the club, and the way they are welcomed. Another aspect they appreciate is that they don’t have to wait in the rain, and the children have a safe place to wait, not next to the stadium where they train. Everything is designed for the comfort of our customers. Although we have many customers from Durlesti, they also come from other localities, such as Ialoveni, Truseni, and various sectors of ChisinÄu, such as Telecentru and Botanica.
How long have you been a Moldindconbank customer and how did you find out about the 373 program?
I have been a Moldindconbank customer for about seven years. In the field of investments, the bank is your first partner, so I have frequently collaborated with Moldindconbank, turning to them several times for loans, some of which were open, others closed. As for the 373 program, I found out about it through our financiers, who suggested that we try to access financing through this program, and we succeeded.
How important is the support of financial institutions for such large-scale projects?
The project is large. Initial cost estimates were much lower, and when we reached a budget deficit, it was important to obtain financing. We accessed 15 million lei through the 373 program, given that the initial planned budget was 40 million lei, but we exceeded it.
What did you find attractive about the 373 program?
The interest rateāmoney is cheaper here. More than a third of the project budget was covered by this program. Even a million lei is a lot, and 15 million lei was a significant contribution.
What are the prospects for the development of your business?
We are currently focused on this project; we want to develop it, bring it to the appropriate level, and make it profitable. However, we also have other interesting projects, also in the field of fitness and sports. We are most focused on this area and have ideas for development.
